It was an Olympic filled weekend for us. Not only have we been totally absorbed into the games we've managed to visit, and enjoy, a few places near us that hold some Olympic significance.
Saturday morning was perfect for a trip to one of our favorite beach communities, Manhattan Beach.

See the little monkey, peaking out of the B.O.B. in the upper left photo? :)
Top left photo: Walking along the strand.
Middle left photo: Some unsuspecting surfers have no clue their boards have made a debut on the Monologues.
Lower left photo: No photo better captures a morning on the beach.
Upper right photo: The pier.
Lower center photo: Check out the skills of that surfer! See the paddle boarder WAAAY off in the distance?
Lower right photo: A Masters Swim competition - in the ocean - that's nuts! |
You might be asking what makes Manhattan Beach Olympic-note-worthy... Have you seen the women's beach volleyball team of
Misty May-Treanor and
Kerri Walsh Jennings? These woman are amazing! Their skills make our beach volleyball games look like child's play.
Manhattan Beach, and the volleyball courts are their "office." Must be nice, huh?!
No trip to the beach would be complete without a stop at one of the many cute little restaurants.

The little man and me, ready for some breakfast! |
The monkey seemed to really enjoy our little outing. I can't wait to share with him all the fun the beach has to offer.
He was born adorable, but I swear each picture he gets even MORE adorable!
