My Family

First Comes Love:
A brief overview on how Scott and I met: I worked for a City, Scott worked for the same City. We met playing slow pitch softball. He was 2nd base. I was 1st base. His grounding skills were... Lacking. I gave him grief. Apparently he found that charming. The rest, as they say, is history.

Then Comes Marriage:
October 2, 2010, I was lucky to marry my best friend, Scott. He truly is my other half. I'm not sure what I'd do without him. Scott keeps me grounded, encourages and loves more than I deserve, and introduced me to this thing called a 'budget.'
Then Come the Babies in the Baby Carriage:
March 23, 2012 I became a mommy. Marcus B. Macke entered this world at exactly 10:00AM, weighing 9 pounds 3 ounces, 21 inches long. I didn't really believe in love at first sight until that day. Marcus has made our lives fuller, happier, and more complete than I could have ever imagined.
August 7, 2015 Julia Kay Macke made her debut at 12:48pm, weighing 8 pounds 4 ounces and 20 inches long. My heart doubled with love the minute I laid eyes on her. She perfectly rounded out our family in ways I didn't think possible.

Home Sweet Home:
Though Scott and I would love to get back home (to the Midwest, more specifically Kansas City) we moved to Southern California in the spring of 2010. It's no joke when they say, "We're not in Kansas anymore." This is truly the Land of Fruits and Nuts. But, the weather is great, the beaches are fun, and the sun always shines. We'll enjoy it all as long as we are here.
The Four-legged Fur Babies:
Our family wouldn't be complete without our massive Chocolate Lab, Drake. His bark is big but he is our gentle giant.
Izzy is our snuggly feline child whom we adopted from our local animal shelter. Izzy can be running crazily through the house, chasing her shadow one minute, and then curled up and napping in any willing participants lap the next.
Our fur babies are just so great with Marcus, and his less-than-gentle ways.
