Goodbye Old Friend

Yesterday we said goodbye to a little piece of our family...
Though the Jeep wasn't my pride and joy, it certainly was Scott's. He gave so much time, attention, and care to the four-wheeled ride.

Scott's beloved Jeep has been through so much with Scott, with me, with us. So many memories were made with the Jeep, made *because* of the Jeep.
I know I'm not doing any justice to all that the Jeep meant to Scott...
Luckily, the Jeep has found another great home. We can only hope the vehicle provides the new owners with as many great memories as we were afforded.
Even Marcus had a tough time parting ways.
Goodbye old friend. You will be missed.

  2. Why is it hard to part w/ our vehicles?? I've always owned mine for years at a time and it's so hard to say goodbye. Weird. :) But believe me, when I do get a new vehicle I am always so super excited! I still love my Traverse, had it almost a year already! I still get excited when I walk up to it in a parking lot and know it's mine. :)

  3. It really is sad saying goodbye to a vehicle. I think you did a nice farewell to it. I'm sure Scott would smile if he read this post.

  5. Hope the search is going well. Can't WAIT to find out what you get and then I can be jealous until next year when we get a new car. :)

  8. It is sad when a car leaves the family. I cried when we sold our Suburban because we took Hannah home in it.

  9. No way! Ryan had the same exact Jeep but in black when I first met him. He was the first person that I've ever met to be sad about getting rid of an old car to buy a brand new one! He loved that thing. :)

  10. I always feel sad about parting with my cars too! Maybe it's some american midwest thing that our cars are a part of us? But seriously we spend so much time in them (us non city folk) that they really are like a home on wheels! Can't wait to see what you get next car shopping is so fun (and frustrating)!

  12. My very first car was a Ford Escort. Towards the end of our relationship, I was getting a little tired of that car. But the day I drove away from the dealership after I traded it in and got my new car, I felt sad. That was the car I learned to drive in. We had been through a lot together.

Now, I own a Civic, and I loooove that car. I suspect the only way I would be able to part with it is if I was getting a brand new Civic.

  13. It's never easy to let go of the things that played a big part in your life. What made you decide to sell this car, by the way? Are you planning to purchase a new one?

  14. I am sure you were devastated to see it go. I love my Jeep. I have bought new cars other than it but I have always had to hold onto it. The horrible thing is that I rarely use it so I probably should have gone with what you chose to it. Maybe I will sell it sooner than later.
