For three solid days it was cool and rainy and everything I had been dreaming of, and missing, for so long.
Ever few hours the skies would open up and pour down on us. I wanted Marcus to experience it, and soak it all up (literally).
In between breaks in the rain we dressed in the proper attire and headed out into the clean, cool, damp air.
The rain was a novel concept to Marcus. It took a little while for him to warm up to the weather that is so out of the ordinary for us.
A few rain props and the green light from mom to go ahead and get wet and dirty, and the little man had himself a grand old time.
I introduced him to the wonder of catching rain drops on his tongue, something I remember loving to do as a child.
We then moved on to the puddles. Oh the puddles. These puddles were bigger and more splendid than any puddle Marcus had ever encountered.
Over and over he jumped, splashing away, until the next round of storms made there way to us to refill the puddles he would empty. We repeated this cycle most of the day. For my little man it was pure bliss.
For us it was the most glorious, perfect storm.
Love all the pics and his umbrella is just darling. We have been catching a lot of snowflakes on our tongues around these parts and are hoping to do that with rain *someday*.
ReplyDeleteHe is so adorable in his little fireman attire! We get plenty of rain around these parts so playing in the mud is not new to us, but it is ALWAYS fun!
ReplyDeleteThat rain suit, so cute! And that umbrella! Rain sounds perfect.....sounds like spring.....I'm SO over winter!
ReplyDeleteI am ready for our spring rain showers to wash all this snow away.
ReplyDeleteHow in the world did you get those boots on him? I have the hardest time getting rain boots on our son. Do you buy a bigger size?
That's awesome! I thought of you this weekend wondering if you were getting the rain they were talking about and hoping you weren't having any issues with the mudslides. Great pics!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day! I still send Hannah out to play in the rain. Kids can't say no to a big puddle.
