Only 9 (NINE!) weeks to go.
Size of Baby // My Pregnancy apps says M² is over 16 inches long and weighs about 3.3 pounds. Apparently that's about the weight of a coconut.
Cravings // Cantaloupe. Right now it's the best. Together, Marcus and I can easily polish off an entire melon in one day.

Symptoms // Holy leg cramps, Batman. For several nights I was up thanks to the searing pain of my calf trying to make its way into my knee. Thankfully, my doctor hooked me up with some calcium, and that seems to be helping.
There have also been a handful of rounds of heartburn. Not at all fun.
(Neither of these happened while pregnant with Marcus.)
I'm also detecting a bit of a waddle going on when I walk.

Movement // Good lord, all the time. Some of M²'s movements are so big and powerful they wake me in the middle of the night. The little lady has taken a serious liking to kicking my right ribs.
Miss Anything // Moving with ease is becoming increasingly more difficult. Simple tasks, like putting on shoes and socks require noticeably more effort. I've also found that post running workouts I'm subject to some pretty intense pain in areas I didn't even know could hurt. Scott has suggested removing running from my workouts, and I can't even wrap my head around that thought. I'm already mourning my running routine.
Sleep // Hey, pregnancy insomnia, BEAT IT.
Wednesday night I was so exhausted I went to bed at 9:15 and didn't wake until 7:00 the next morning. It was incredible.

Clothing // Duh. Just duh.
Best Part of the Week/ Looking Forward To… //
1. Checked in on M² on Monday. Things are looking good and growing right on track. My doctor informed me I'm doing a much better job at maintaining a healthy weight this go around. It was also a relief to learn M² is currently head down. YAY!!! I pray that she really loves that position and just hangs out that way for the rest of this pregnancy. If she doesn't flip a c-section will likely be avoidable. (Listen up little lady, do not be stubborn like your big brother. Breech is not a position you want to be in!)
2. One evening M² was moving a lot and I pointed it out to Marcus. He began talking to my belly saying, "Hi, Baby!" He was touching my tummy and his face just lit up every time he could feel movement. With a little prompting Marcus also said, "I love you, Baby." My mommy heart exploded into a million pieces.
3. This past weekend we went to a street fair in a neighboring community. Marcus had a blast with the ponies, petting zoo, and carnival rides.

Have a great weekend!
It is sweet when they talk to the baby. I don't think Hannah was all that interested in the baby until she was born.
ReplyDeleteCan you substitute walking for running for the last weeks? I know it isn't the same, but it is still moving.
I had TERRIBLE Charlie Horses at night during my 3rd trimester...I was so astonished after I gave birth that I could stretch my legs and point my toes without searing pain!
ReplyDeleteI also had leg cramps this time around. No fun at all! Hard to believe you're down to the single digit week countdown!
ReplyDeleteThat kid in those sunglasses! I'm dying! What a stylish little man!
ReplyDeleteOh and him saying he loves his sister, my heart may have just burst into a million pieces too! He's going to be the sweetest brother!
I can't believe you only have 9 weeks left! Marcus is definitely going to make a great big brother :) I hear you on the heartburn- I had it bad with my first pregnancy, and it kicked in this time around 21 weeks. I'm definitely looking forward to that going away!
ReplyDeleteI had RLS with Brennan and Tate - I took magnesium (I think) for that and it helped a ton. Thank goodness b/c that weird feeling is horrible! can't imagine the awful leg cramps you were experiencing!
