The last ten-ish days could easily be some of the best, ever.
Here's how it went down...
Disney x2
September is hands down the best month to go to Disney. The crowds are minimal, and the Halloween decor comes out!
Because Grandma was visiting we figured we'd better get to the parks at least a couple of times while she was here!
Seriously, just give me Disney every day.
Soccer
We're officially in "organized" sports now. There's no turning back!
Our first practice/game was this past weekend.
Seeing all those little shin guards and cleats chasing after a ball was comedy.
After the session was over, in the car Marcus proclaimed, "Soccer was SO much fun!" Music to my ears. I hope we spend many a days at the pitch.
Because I couldn't let this one slide under the radar... Julia was in on the field action as well. Except she just wanted to eat all the dirt.
Date Night
For my birthday Scott surprised me with tickets to see Garth Brooks.
The last time I saw him was in Kansas City circa 2008. There he played nine nights in a row. After seeing him one night he was SO good I turned around and went a second night. The man is a ball of energy, and easily the best entertainer I've ever seen.
Just like the last time, the show was amazing. We took our seats about 6:45, and didn't head back to our car until after midnight. SO GOOD!
It was unbelievable to have a night, just the two of us. I can't remember the last time that's happened.
Massive shout out to my mom for taking on the kiddos for nighttime duties!
Sunsets
Fall is my favorite season for so many reasons. When I lived in the Midwest it was because the weather cooled, the leaves changed colors, and cute clothes made their return. Now? Now I love Fall for the sunsets.
We will spend many evenings chasing the sun to the water to catch as the ocean seems to swallow it up.
Stained Glass
When I was little I remember spending afternoons in our basement as my dad would create works of art with glass. Not too long ago he took back up his hobby. For my birthday he sent the most magnificent stained glass butterfly.
I think the window by our front door is the perfect spot for this beauty.
Now we're celebrating Scott being back home after a few days away thanks to work obligations. Our weekend is shaping up to look nice and relaxed, just the way I like it.
Happy Friday!
Wow girl! You definitely had an awesome week! I'm so glad your birthday was so great. You deserve it.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to see Garth but never have had the chance yet. My parents did YEARS ago! I'm so glad that you & Scott some one on one time. Yay for mama being in town. Enjoy your weekend!

I love fall and Christmas at Disney. They have great decorations.
ReplyDeleteGarth Brooks will be in Orlando in a few weeks, and I want to go, but I don't have a babysitter for overnight. I don't want to drive 2.5 hours at midnight. I have never seen him in concert.
Yay for great days!! Ive always wanted to learn how to make stained glass, so beautiful! I adore your Making Memories shirt, where did you get it? That sunset, completely stunning.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing week! Yay Garth!!! I love all of this. Julia with the grass, the butterfly! Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteBEST WEEK EVER. And a huge shout out to your mom for watching the kids so you guys could have a date night at the best concert ever! I'm so glad you enjoyed your birthday weekend so much! Sadly, Disney was SUPER crowded when we went so we didn't go on too many rides but I'm hoping to go back soon, maybe even a night trip, to catch the fireworks! I haven't seen them in AGES due to little people getting tired by 6pm.
ReplyDeleteOh and that stained glass?! Holy gorgeous! Your dad is so talented!
Sooo many awesome things about this post!!! So much fun at the park and I bet the concert was awesome- love him too! And LOVE that organized sports are up and running :) what a cute little soccer player!! And my grandpa (on my moms side) used to do stained glass. Such an awesome skill and that butterfly is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteDisney x2, SO jealous. Marcus is going to make the perfect little soccer player too. That sunset photo is breathtaking too #framer.
