Stripping down to the bare bones of summer can bring some of the most joy to kids and adults alike.
While we had four tireless boys together we did just that. With a spacious yard, a bucket full of water balloons, and a sprinkler, we had some of the most fun a bright, sunny, perfect, summer afternoon could lend.

In keeping with Friday's top fives, here are the highlights from our wet and lively afternoon.
1. The wonder and discovery of watching Marcus learn about water balloons for the first time was priceless.
2. Regardless of age, the boys thoroughly enjoyed their time running around, tossing balloons at each other, and getting soaked.
3. Except for Clark... He's wasn't much of a fan of the feeling of grass on his feet. So, his mommy improvised. The result left us all in stitches.
Mommy's face versus Clark's face! |
4. Let's take a moment to note toddler tummies exposed in all their fleshy glory.
5. Maybe the best of all was seeing how something so simple and inexpensive could provide so much entertainment and so many smiles!

ReplyDeleteThis is so so so awesome! I was just thinking maybe Callie would be ready for water balloons this summer... after seeing these photos I can't wait to do it! We loved water balloon fights as kids I am hoping she does too! Ps I LOVE Marcus's whale swim shorts!
ReplyDeleteAren't these the coolest pictures?!!! I love that sprinkler. I agree, some of our best summer days aren't spent at an amusement park or beach, but right in our back yard!!
ReplyDeleteB/c I am out of the blog world loop I missed this link up, darn!!! My boys are constantly begging me to get the water balloons out but I'm a poopy mom and tell them no b/c I am the one who has to fill and tie them and it's a big pain. One day we will get some filled and let them have at it, but in the meantime they sit on the shelf. :( Love those toddler tummies, too! All round and cute! :)
