Women's Health Week - Good Eats

Today is about good food. And good food should be good for you.

While cooking and baking, if I see a recipe calls for a lot of oil, or butter, or sour cream or cream cheese, I do what I can to modify the recipe and find healthier alternatives. Substituting with non-fat Greek yogurt is one of my favorite recipe tricks.

Though I've posted this recipe before, and I've seen it floating around the world wide web lately, I had to share it again. This is one of my favorite snacks. If you haven't tried this you really must. Have a sweet tooth? This should do the trick. Need something with some substance? This is for you.
This is so easy, and so good. I love to dip apples, but bananas would also be mighty tasty paired with the dip.

Peanut Butter Fruit Dip
1/2 cup fat free vanilla Greek yogurt
2 Tbsp creamy peanut butter
1/2 Tbsp honey
1/8 tsp cinnamon

Mix all ingredients until fully combined.
Makes 2 servings.

Yum-o!!!

Here's a Greek yogurt conversion chart that hangs in my kitchen and is used almost daily. Feel free to print it off and use it in your kitchen as well!

  1. I'm always trying to eat healthier and replace things in my diet that I know aren't good for me. So, I'm really going to display my ignorance here by saying that I had no idea you could substitute Greek yogurt for all those things. That's going to come in very handy! Thanks!
