Three years ago I was searching for something. A purpose, I suppose. Moving to a new city and working a job that I wasn't totally satisfied with left me looking for something to fill a void.
Three years ago I had no idea what I was doing when I discovered what a blog really was. And had no idea what would come of hitting that 'publish' button on my first post.
Three years ago I had no idea what direction the writing would take me, and I had no idea what doors would be unlocked as I continued to hit that 'publish' button and explore the hidden (to me) world of blogging.
Three years ago I started connecting and meeting people with whom I could relate. Slowly, that void began to fill with people I could really relate to.
Three years ago friendships were born, albeit they were made through a computer screen, they were made nonetheless. And, those friendships were (and still are) very much real.
Today I sit here and am blown away by how fortunate I am to have met some of the most amazing women, and all through blogging.
Last Friday I had the opportunity to meet two ladies - in real life - that I've grown to know and love, all thanks to this incredible blogging community.
In San Diego Stephanie, Elizabeth, and I spent an afternoon, evening, and night chatting like old friends. Conversation flowed easily, the laughs were abundant, and the feeling of gratitude for having these supportive women in my life was overwhelming.
I had all intentions of taking a million pictures of our day together (because that's what bloggers do), but I was so enveloped in the moment I all but forgot I had my 'big' camera with me.
Stephanie and Elizabeth, thank you for the very best time. I wish we were able to meet up every Friday for the coffee, the conversation, the laughs, the chocolate, the dinner, the conversations…
To all my friends (blogging and otherwise) your support, understanding of life and all its complexities (especially when it comes to parenting), and your love is irreplaceable. I am so thankful for each and every one you.
So fun. I love that you were able to meet up together.
ReplyDeleteThree years?!?! I guess I had not paid any attention to how far back your archive goes, that is awesome. I will be so happy if I last a year ;).
How fun that you were able to meet 2 other bloggers! I've never met any in "person", so I'm totally jealous!! Isn't it funny how you can connect with someone that you've never met in person. I've definitely "met" some incredible friends just through blogging =)
ReplyDeleteGlad you've loved blogging so much!
