The Living Room

While our kitchen is my favorite room in the house our living rooms is a very close second.

What I love about our living room isn't the size (though it is comfortably large), it isn't the color on the walls (or lack thereof), or how we have our furniture arranged.
What I love about our living room is that we can have most of Marcus' toys *hidden*.

Unlike our former town home (which the floor plan was almost identical our home now), our place now smartly utilizes every inch of space.

See the discreet door to the right of the stairs?
 Take a peek inside.
BAM! Just like that we have somewhere to put all the *stuff* that accompanies having a little one.
The storage area has been perfect for us. Marcus loves going in and out of the little door, turning on and off the light, and pulling every toy out into the living room. Sometimes the little guy will head to the storage area, close the door, and chat and play away.

While we don't have a play room, per se, we DO have play storage - which may or may not be as good (maybe better??) than an entire room.

  1. Those attached club chairs with cup holders are AWESOME. Wish I was rich and could afford a home theater room with 10 of those babies!!

  2. That is awesome! If you ever decide to remove the storage room, you can turn it into my bedroom!

  3. That works perfectly! And seriously, probably even better than a playroom b/c it will help you keep the toys limited to a reasonable amount. They get overwhelmed with too many choices anyways!

  4. I NEED ONE. Def better than a whole room full. Who wants a whole stressed out room full of toys anyway.

  7. That is perfect! I have a playroom, and although it is nice to have a separate room, the toys are still everywhere in the room. I need a storage closet like this to hide some of the toys.

  11. Great organization in that toy closet! I kinda think at this age it's easier to have them play in a main area where we can see them. This seems like a perfect way to balance that! I'm sure someday I'll regret that and want to kick Callie to her own space! :)

  14. oh I love it so much! And your cat peaking from the stairs =) After Aria's birthday we had soooo many toys, and then Christmas was right after so triple the amount of toys. I had no idea where to put them so they sat all over the place in the living room until I cleared out room in places to tuck them. So much better! I wish I had a discreet toy closet!
