Our weekend is packed with fun, and I'm pretty excited about it all.
With that said, let's get right to this week/ends high-fives!
1. We have family photos this weekend. Usually I'd stress about this, BUT… 1) Our outfits are all ready to go. 2) The location we'll be having them shot is pretty flipping sweet. 3) Sarah Sloboda is taking the pics. She is the same photographer who took Marcus' not-quite-1-year pics last year in San Diego. Here's a look at a couple shot she captured of my very unwilling to smile participant.
I cannot wait to see what pictures Sarah will capture of our little family.
2. We're also off to see the "real" Thomas the Train this weekend. Marcus has never seen an episode of Thomas (I seriously can't handle that steam engine), but he loves himself a good train. I couldn't pass this up. Fingers crossed he's going to love it as much as I'm hoping he will.
3. When I lived in Kansas City I was a Big Sister, of sorts. I was paired with a sweet, shy, quiet 4th grader. She stood as my junior bridesmaid. She made a trip to visit me in LA. We've had copious texts and phone calls between us. Four years later she's still my "little sister." Today she turns *14*! She'll probably never see this blog, but I'm wishing her the happiest birthday!
4. I'm still dreaming of our time in the mountains…
Each night after bath time the little man and I would snuggle up in our warm pjs and watch our fire burn until he fell asleep in my lap. Pure bliss. I am ready to head back, like, yesterday.
5. It would be a total lie if I said this week was just peachy between Marcus and me. In fact, it was incredibly trying. There were a few times I swear time actually stopped, and I was left with the unending torment of a very crabby toddler. After looking at a few (more) pics of our weekend trip I was quickly reminded how truly blessed I am - crabby toddler and all.
Have a great weekend!

Seriously, no photo editing. Isn't it majestic! |

So jealous of the Thomas thing. Drew is OBSESSED and we were in KC when they were in Cleveland this year. We are NOT missing it next year! And I'm with you on the rough week. Drew is definitely learning to push buttons and I'm SOOOO thankful that my parents show up today. There's nothing better than letting grandparents deal with crabby pants!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of him walking the dog. Hannah was so excited when we let her help with the dogs.
ReplyDeleteCrabby toddlers aren't fun. Hang in there!
Gosh, your trip to the mountains just looks so beautiful! We are going to have to plan a trip there at some point. Have fun at your family photos! I can't wait to see them. It is a busy weekend for family photos. I'm shooting three sessions tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteYou are delving into the world of Thomas? Did our emails a while back ago mean nothing? LOL And I LOVE his little toes!!!
ReplyDeleteIf the pictures above are of him unwilling then I can't even imagine what she would capture if he is a willing participant! Such a beautiful boy! Can't wait to see the family photos! I think that the outfit planning is sometimes more stressful than the actual day. Choose the wrong outfit and the pictures look awful even if the photographer did everything right ....
ReplyDeleteThat mountain picture! ahh, gorgeous!
Sounds like you have a great weekend planned!
I can't wait to see your family pictures and the Thomas adventure sounds fun
ReplyDeletehe is going to LOVE thomas!!
ReplyDeletei totally can not wait to see your family pictures. they will be GREAT! i love his outfit from his almost 1 year old pics, so i know you will knock it out of the park again for these ones!
you are radiant.
xxo
Yay for family photos! I'm sure he will love his time with Thomas and hopefully that will perk him back up :) Those trying times make things hard but hang in there - as i'm sure you know it's just another phase!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I love the second picture of Marcus! Have you attempted to put the Chucks on him yet?
ReplyDeleteLove you and your "little sister" !!
ReplyDeleteHope family pics went well :-)
Raya literally cries if Thomas comes on....she absolutely hates that show for some reason LOL
Good luck with the family pictures! I can't wait to see how they turned out. I bet you really are missing your vacation in the mountains. It looked so stunning there. I know you guys had a lot of fun. I also love that picture of Marcus walking the dog with a little help from dad. Priceless!
